Reading

Reading has become an addiction for me. I use to hate it, sitting down to look at a bunch of words, sentences, and pages, but not understanding anything that they were saying. I would get so distracted I would reads the same paragraph over and over again, so that I could try to read what it was saying but not having the interest to care.

It all started during the summer I was told about so books that I should read, and in my head I knew I would. All my friends read and actually loved it. Recommendations were always coming to me but I would pay no attention. I finally said, I’m going to try to read this book and actually like it. this book opened up so many new ideas on life, I finally found a book that held my interest and made me want to continue reading. I started to checkout Nemours books at a time pushing myself to read them, to finish them. I would try to find books with incredible stories, stories that were on the darker side of the fiction world. These books gave me grave interest and the emotion written behind them I felt. It amazed me how I use to never read, not for assignments, not for fun. I always thought people who read for fun were just plain nuts. I am now one of those crazy readers.
The sad thing is I have become very busy in the last months and I have been deprived from reading the stories that fill my mind and increase my outlook on certain things in life. If I set goals to my reading I should be able to sit myself down and reach them. Enlighten the thoughts that create the different outlooks I have on each individual book or series. I only wish reading was the only thing I had to do in life, then I would be very content.

Blog # 4- Research Topic

My research for my paper is on the profession of Physician’s Assistant and how it is showing to become one of the most up and coming career. With the need for medical care on the rise, the health care reform and the shortage of doctors throughout the U.S. New education advances for prospective PAs is becoming very advanced. Schools are expecting to have many students within the next decade going for a career in Physician’s Assistant care. PAs work under a doctor who will give e them great training in what exactly they will be doing in the field.
This profession is one with great prestige and has to have people who care about the needs of patients. People are continuously getting sick and becoming injured, they need people who are educated and care about making sure they are fine again. PAs can work in hospitals, doctor’s offices, and will soon be able to open up their own practices. The quality of care between PAs and physicians is nearly the same and many people accept that, PAs have been looked at as great professionals by other doctors, nurses, and most of all patients.
Insurance companies will be making a lot more business as PAs come on to the scene more and more. If they are able to open of their own practices soon it will be necessary that the PAs have great insurance because they will be equally responsible for malpractice suits. As time goes on the generations will last longer and need more care, future PAs may have to have more education and training to take care of their patients with new diagnoses and technologies. About 50 percent more jobs are expected to open up for PAs in the recent future which will make the job and even greater goal for medical students.

Movie Review

A movie that I have seen and is in my opinion a great piece of work would have to be "Premonition". It was made in 2007 but is a movie that you are able to watch several times, it is in a way a thriller inside of a drama. It follows the actress Sandra Bullock playing a woman named Linda Hanson. The movie starts off with Linda getting information from a police officer telling her about a car accident her husband Jim had died in. The emotion of seeing woman who has just lost her husband is show greatly through all characters including the children of Linda and her newly deceased husband. The next week of her life confuses her to no end each day is very different one day her husband will be dead and the next her is still alive. The movie does not say what exactly all of it means. Each day is full of very emotional and dramatic events between life and death Jim has no idea that Linda has been living life out of order; actually no one in her life seems to know what it going on the all live life normally. Normally as in how a person would deal with someone being dead and the next day not even knowing that they are. The movie keeps you guessing through, makes you think about what the next day will include. Would the next day be a day where Jim is a part of their everyday lives or could it be his funeral? The mother of Linda takes care of the children while Linda begins spinning out of control, because it seems to everybody else that she is going insane, she is the only one living life were one day her husband is there and then one day he is dead. The mother also admits her on insanity, Linda writes down what happens each day and it shows that it includes the days of the week each day occurs in a pattern but not in order. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are all out of order to her. This teaches her that she has to appreciate the days she has with Jim. Once she know the exact day Jim dies it comes on her “the next day,” she is behind Jim in the car she tells him to come back but as he does a semi collides with his car completely engulfing the car, it shows that she caused the accident in a way. At the end of the movie it shows Linda and her children, when she gets up from her mattress she is showing a baby bump.
This movie is very suspenseful; keeping you wondering what is going to happen to the family. Following a woman on the edge of insanity, freaking from the loss of her husband and how she deals with protecting her children. The acting of Sandra Bullock always is very outstanding; showing her in a different genre, away from her comedic roles shows how she can perform in any genre. Movies always make us think about certain situations and how we would go through them handling them in different ways. Overall This was a great movie to keep you interested and wanting to know what happens next, the story is not all clear at times but the ending sums it up perfectly it is very sad but thoughtful.
